Lisbon Architecture Triennale.Third edition

Closer, Closer, the third edition of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale examines the political, technological, emotional, institutional, and critical forms of global spatial practice. By questioning the terminology, inspirations, and inventions of other disciplines and their influences in an open forum, we draw the myriad authors of the contemporary city closer to new vital audiences and dialogues.

Led by chief curator Beatrice Galilee and curators José Esparza, Mariana Pestana, and Liam Young, the Triennale will provide a platform for emerging practitioners and protagonists whose work and interests are far from a traditional client-architect model. The exhibitions, conferences, talks, and fringe events organised by the curatorial team should introduce to the public, and a new generation of architects, this expansive and often unchartered field.

Close, Closer will present three exhibitions, one public programme, an e-publishing series, a student prize, and a Début Award for young architects, in addition to an established Lifetime Achievement Award. It will also introduce a number of small Crisis Buster grants that will be used to invest in long-term, civic, and entrepreneurial projects for Lisbon.

Concurso Ideas Urbanas 2.0.

Ideas Urbanas 2.0

Ideas urbanas 2.0 es una iniciativa  para promover la creatividad y la innovación de los estudiantes y los jóvenes profesionales del sector de la arquitectura, el urbanismo y la ingeniería.  Se quiere dar un paso más allá,  mediante la reflexión sobre los espacios urbanos, proponiendo proyectos para la ciudad sostenible.

Se quiere fomentar la aplicación de las nuevas tecnologías urbanas, acompañadas del sentido común, mediante proyectos preocupados por la cotidianidad de los espacios de nuestras ciudades, y  la interacción de ecosistemas ambientales y urbanos, integrando nuevos dispositivos tecnológicos, mixtura de usos y las dinámicas del mundo 2.0 que transforman nuestras ciudades.

 

El concurso se realizará en paralelo a un ciclo de conferencias que tendrá lugar durante el periodo octubre-noviembre 2012 en la sede del Instituto Francés de Barcelona, con motivo de la Semana de la Ciencia, sobre la ciudad sostenible.  A su vez, los resultados serán divulgados mediante exposiciones públicas en distintas localidades. Se realizará una publicación y una presentación pública oral de las propuestas finalistas en la sede del Instituto Francés.

The Centre Pompidou is devoting an exhibition to La Tendenza, a pioneering international architectural movement, led by Aldo Rossi, that came out of Italy in the post-war period. Architecture Collection, along with more than 250 drawings, historical models, photographs, paintings, films, and a wide variety of documentary material. Tendenza means ‘trend’, a form of progress that criticized the very idea of the avant-garde as both idealistic and unrealistic. The movement rejected utopia in favour of a political and critical architecture with a firm grip on reality. Visitors will discover the works of the most famous architects around this movement dealing in a new way with History the Tendenza, such as Aldo Rossi, Mario Ridolfi, Alessandro Anselmi, Carlo Aymonino, Paolo Portoghesi, Ernesto N. Rogers, Massimo Scolari – and of other members of the movement who had a particularly strong influence on the Italian scene: Salvatore Bisogni, Gianni Braghieri, Arduino Cantafora, the G.R.A.U (Groupe Romain d’Architectes Urbanistes), Edoardo Guazzoni, Antonio Monestiroli, Dario Passi, Franz Prati, Franco Purini, Uberto Siola, Franco Stella, Daniele Vitale, Giangiacomo D’Ardia et al.

The project is based on four key strategies: - a new landscape system based on the creation of a network of micro-public spaces, and the institution of a new urban park in Meander Creek, in order to reshape the river banks and reduce the gap between the formal and the informal; - the conversion of the industrial area into shade-housing facilities; to go along with the overall housing system; - the strengthening of the existing infrastructural system, and the conversion of the existing industrial railroad to urban transport, connecting the Provincia to the Capital Federal through the Barrio; - the reconfiguration of the borders between the neighborhood’s districts structuring a filter zone between park and slum.

Con el objeto de no limitar las posibilidades de participación, Arquideas introduce dos modificaciones en las Bases:

1- Podrán participar estudiantes de arquitectura de cualquier curso y jóvenes arquitectos (hasta 5 años de licenciatura).

2- Desvinculación de las prácticas en el estudio, para ampliar el alcance geográfico y las posibilidades de destinar el premio de la Beca a la realización de otras actividades formativas, a elección del ganador.
